"Lia is so much more than your average college counselor. While getting me into a top choice school, she was also my personal SAT tutor, outside of school activity scheduler, fashion critic, and favorite person to gossip with. Lia was somehow able to turn a process that presents itself as being extremely stressful, and turned it into something I enjoyed doing. Meeting with Lia was often the highlight of my week. She was able to get me excited about the process and was a major component in helping to shape what I want to make of myself in the following years. Before meeting with Lia, I had absolutely no idea where I wanted to end up for school, let alone what major I wanted to pursue. Lia took the time to sit down with me, and through many conversations about my interests, hobbies, and preferences, we were able to to create the perfect list of schools.
While her main task was getting me into college, she didn't stop there. As a senior, we had to complete a mandatory project that was student led. I interviewed Lia about my topic (the mental health of teenagers) and she offered amazing feedback regarding how to reduce stress surrounding the application process, which my peers and teachers loved. Additionally, she also helped put me on a schedule that allowed me to work and see my friends, while also setting aside time to make sure my grades were up to my full potential. As fun as writing long supplements and filling out FASFAs is, my favorite part of the process was getting to know Lia. I can say confidently that she truly invests herself into every one of her kids, and will often text to check in on me, even after having completed our weekly meetings and committing to school. I also know that Lia will always make herself available as a resource to me even after my high school years are done. She acts as a role model, and you can tell she really loves the work she does, which inspires me to hopefully end up in a career that I'm just as passionate about. Lia's' influence of my future is one that I will never forget, and I can’t wait to keep in touch next year and keep her filled in on all the college drama.”
“The College application process is a strenuous time for teenagers and parents especially now during a global pandemic. I personally did not want to start applying to colleges and planned on procrastinating to the very last minute. I always knew I wanted to go to college but with my anxiety even just thinking about the subject made me extremely nervous. College advisor Lia Levitt changed my perspective and my whole life. Lia is so much more than an average College Counselor. She puts so much time and effort into each individual client making them feel as though they are the only person she is working with. She made applying to colleges stress free, fun, and exciting. She helped me decide what major I wanted to pursue as well as research the best schools for my desired major. I felt so comfortable meeting with Lia and she helped me write my very personal essay about my childhood trauma. She helped me not only with college applications but with problem solving in my personal life. She would reach out to me multiple times each week to check in and offer advice. If I was having a particularly difficult time she would offer to call me so we can talk even if we did not have an appointment scheduled that day. Lia is very flexible when it comes to each person's individual schedule and needs. Every week she texts asking when would be the best time for you to meet and she will accommodate each person's needs. I recommend Lia Levitt for every teenager who is applying to college.
Amidst the Pandemic we were able to meet once in person during the summertime. I invited her out on my boat on Candlewood Lake where we were able to finally talk face to face and get to know each other better. She was also able to meet her future client, my thirteen year old sister. My sister is still a long way from applying but through meeting Lia and listening in on some calls she is thrilled to start and has already begun researching where she wants to go and what career she would like to pursue. I know that Lia can help anyone get into a great school no matter the circumstances. She encourages you to work hard, have goals, and works tirelessly to ensure her clients have a bright future ahead of them. If you have any doubts, worries, or questions Lia will find you the answer and a solution. For instance I got into my top choice school but did not realize the field I was wanted to go into was especially competitive at this school. Without hesitation she called up the head of the department and talked to them for half an hour answering all my questions that weren’t clear on the schools website. She encouraged me that I can get into the competitive program but also offered alternative options. From meeting with her weekly for months I am now confident in myself and my abilities. I am certain that if I work hard and set goals I will be able to lead a happy and successful future doing something that I love. So far I have been accepted into five great schools and am looking forward to what the future holds. I plan to remain in touch with Lia through the years to come as I know she will always be there for me and will help me with any struggles I may face."
"If you are thinking about hiring Lia Levitt to help your child in their college admissions process you definitely should. Lia was the right fit for me and for every kid I have talked to that has worked with her. When my mom first brought up the idea of using a college counselor I was against it. I thought I could do it on my own, and to be honest I was pretty lazy and didn’t want to deal with meeting someone every two weeks or so to talk about school.
Now I can confidently say that I would be lost without her. Lia has helped me not just with college but to be motivated to do school work and get on top of my assignments. Since being with Lia I have raised my grades from B’s, C’s, D’s, and even one F to straight A’s. In addition Lia made the college admissions process a breeze. My mom did not have to do anything, it was all between Lia and me. She took the stress out of every part I was worried about from time management, to my college essay, helping me create outlines for my supplemental essays, and guiding me all through applying to every college that was on my list.
This year I applied to 10 schools and have heard back from 6. Each school I have heard back from has accepted me and has offered me a scholarship. The largest being $80,000. Overall Lia has been the best resource for help and insight on the college admissions process, and what schools are looking for. School counselors cannot compare to the attention and support that Lia will give your child."
"I am so thankful to have Lia as my counselor and for all of her help through my application process. Before I started writing my supplements and college essay, I had a few vague ideas on what I wanted to write about, but not much clicked. After two meetings with Lia, she was able to help me with ideas to write about my supplements and find a true to self college essay that came from my heart. She taught me to think outside the box, and not as a typical high school student.
Lia was also reachable around the clock for last minute questions, which was extremely helpful. Her bright energy always made the meetings fun and enjoyable, which allowed me to look forward to our meetings. Not only was she the best counselor, she was someone I could look up to and make me feel good about my self during hard times.
Choosing Lia to be my counselor during my application process was definitely a good decision, and I am very thankful and lucky that I had this opportunity."
"Originally, when my mom first told me about Lia and her title as “academic architect”, she described her as some sort of magician, who magically helped all of her clients get into their dream school. I was skeptical, but excited to start working with someone who works as diligently as I do.
From the beginning I had my sights set on a particular university. Lia shared that passion with me and went above and beyond to make sure my dream was achieved. So far I have heard from five out of ten schools I applied to, all of which being acceptances. This includes my dream school; the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Leading up to my acceptance, Lia called or texted me every single day asking if I had heard back yet, and when I finally received my acceptance letter, Lia may have been more excited and proud of me then my own parents. Lia was there for me every step of the way, not only with the college application process, but with school work, resumes, and even if I just needed to talk.
Knowing I am a professional procrastinator, Lia checked in on me constantly; giving me deadlines and encouragement to ensure she did everything she could to help me. To some this may feel like a nuisance, but Lia continued to prove that she cared about me personally, I wasn’t just a ”client” or checkpoint to do on her list.
Lia has changed my life and helped me become more confident in myself and my work to make me the best possible version of myself. I can’t wait to continue filling her in on the many twists and turns of my life in college, and to work with her again when I apply to law school. No dollar amount will ever be able to repay her for the dedication she gives each of her clients, and I will forever be grateful."
"Lia and I started zooming every other week during the middle of my junior year, around February of 2022 just to begin getting to know each other and the conversations always flowed seamlessly. I felt as though Lia was always accessible anytime to answer any question within 24 hours but usually within an hour or two unless it was a holiday just by shooting her a simple text. Through our frequent calls, we chipped away at the work we had to get done for the college process effortlessly while catching up about what was new in our lives simultaneously which made it much more enjoyable. Lia’s approach is super laid back and casual which helped make the process less intimidating while also being extremely informative and productive. Before I knew it, we had accomplished all the work we had to get done without me even realizing it and exceeding every deadline by several days and sometimes weeks. Every college I applied to we did early action and were done before December was even upon us. Lia took all the pressure off of my mom and I since we knew nothing about the experience and I knew my mom had complete trust in her and so did I. Her math tutor, Nick, helped raise my SAT score as much as I had hoped by around 150 points in only a few sessions as well! I got into my early decision 1 school which was certainly a reach and my supplementals and common app essay she helped me work on were certainly a huge part of my acceptance and I also received merit money and scholarships from a couple different schools as well having a good chunk of my tuition paid for. Despite my last application being submitted in December, Lia is still extremely involved in my life, always checking in about the college process that has been ongoing and we keep in touch! Any questions I have I know I can go to her about since she’s not only knowledgeable about the process, she also knows so much about the experience since she keeps in close contact with all of her clients even after they graduate and go off to school too and she’s always willing to connect current students with past ones to get a firsthand perspective on the college process experience too!"
“I just want to say thank you to everyone for their help!! Especially Lia! Thank you for being the best, for always gossiping, being there for support and for keeping it real. I’m extremely happy with this outcome and I owe it all to you. Thank you for making this stressful process feel like I breeze, I couldn’t thank you enough really. Super excited for the future and to finally meet up one day!!! Thank you for being the best over this year<33
At first I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect since I was taking to a stranger I didn’t really know. However once I got to know everybody I felt so much more comfortable and talking to you was like ranting to a friend. I feel like we grew closer after every meeting we had together over the last couple of months. I feel like we were able to connect. I came to be very open about my concerns and how I felt. The meetings were fun some days, stressful others, but overall really good. I felt like we were able to get a lot done in such a short period of time that I would not get done in a day working by myself. It was very easy to get in touch whether it was via text or email. I would always get an answer within minutes tops an hour. I always felt like my questions were always answered and like someone was always there for me for help.
The aspects that were the most helpful were building my resume, writing my essays and looking deep into them, answering everyone point that was being asked. Narrowing it down to 9 schools that we both agreed on were the best fit for me, and always working hard whether it was essay writing or even test prep. Gossiping was always fun and catching up with all the drama was the best!! I always felt like we divided our time between chill time and work time and knew when it time to work. Time always flew by because it never felt forced or like I was in school, it was enjoyable.
I felt like I was able to get help during test prep especially working with Nick for math. I felt like I got a lot out of it and my math score went up by 50 points being that math was something I struggled with. It helped with my stress tremendously being that i felt stressed out with school on top of this. It would of been too much to do on my own. It was still stressful but definitely felt under control. It all felt like so much to do but breaking it down and doing it together was a lot easier.
I was able to go out and get two jobs out of Lia’s encouragement which was something I needed to do, along with volunteering more than I would of. Doing this helped build my short resume. During then process I felt my self esteem was originally low because I doubt myself, but Lia helped show my that everything will work out and to never doubt myself. I was able to help boost my confidence in my writing and myself in general. I always felt like was being lifted up and never really brought down. With the results I felt super confident in myself and my ability to succeed in this world.
I was extremely happy with the results!! I got into my dream school which was Syracuse University. I got into almost every school except 2 out of 9 which during this hard and competitive college process is very good. I got good money from some schools and got into my program at every school. I am extremely grateful that Lia was able to help get me here. After the last application I was still able to reach out and ask any additional questions I had. Lia was constantly checking in and asking for updates which made me feel supported and thought of still during this time. She was always excited for my success and made me feel good about the outcome during this stressful time.”
“I highly recommend Lia Levitt to guide you through the college application process. During the pandemic, the last thing I was thinking about was planning for college. As the summer before senior year came around, I realized I didn’t even know where to begin.
Lia was recommended to my mom, so we gave her a call and thankfully she was able to squeeze me into her busy schedule. I didn’t know what to expect at our first meeting, but she was so welcoming and friendly that I was immediately put at ease. Her cats were very welcoming as well and I enjoyed their company during my appointments.
I know Lia worked with a lot of students, but I always felt like I was the only one on her list. She was able to work around my schedule and was very flexible and understanding if I wanted to do a virtual or in person meeting. Somehow, she made filling out college applications enjoyable and stress free. We only had one hour, every other week, to work on the college application process, but Lia always made time to connect with me on a personal level.
Although we no longer need to meet, she still texts me frequently which makes me feel like I am more than a client to her. Because of Lia’s guidance, I have been accepted to every school I applied to. If you feel lost like I did and don’t know where to begin, Lia will help you get through this difficult process.”
"Working with Lia was one of the best choices I made this past year. I was hit with a lot of obstacles at once, from finding out my grandpa has colon cancer to falling behind in school work due to anxiety. Lia was always there to talk and help me through feeling overwhelmed, which was appreciated more than she knows.
My experience with Lia academically was awesome. She led me through every step and provided insight that guided me to get into many great schools. Her dedication to her work is astounding. Staying up late and zooming with all of her clients on a packed schedule truly impressed me. Lia was extremely attentive to my work and applications and made the process much less stressful. She even lent a hand in my English work, which was amazing!
On a personal level, Lia has become a great friend. Fostering kittens has been a way to foster my love for animals and has become one of my favorite aspects of my life. Lia, being an animal person as well, adopted two cats of the first litter born at my house. We have bonded over our shared love for cats as well as the mischief they get into! I believe Lia will remain a good friend of mine and I hope to continue to be Aunt Kate to her two crazy, but lovable rascals!!"
"My experience working with Lia is one I will cherish throughout the rest of my life, as I definitely will be seeking out her help for further endeavors later on!
She made the college process seamless and enjoyable. I went into meetings feeling so stressed about what to write my essay about, how I should write my essay, and ultimately what major I should pursue to study. She calmed me down and helped me brainstorm and write my essay as well as for my resume.
She introduced me to so many new career options that I had never even heard of and guided me in the right direction of how I would go to pursue them. She made me excited to take this new leap into the future that beforehand I had been terrified of. I am so grateful for everything Lia has done for me and I look forward to seeking out her help when it’s time to apply to Graduate School!”
“It was my idea to work with Lia because my friend started to and I felt like it would be helpful. Her encouragement has helped me gain confidence in writing emails to schools, calling admission counselors, and doing interviews.
My relationship with her quickly grew after we had weekly meetings. Being outside on her porch eating cookies easily became the one thing I looked forward to each week. Lia stays in touch with me all the time, and she is always a quick responder. I appreciated that because I would always have last minute questions and would be in panic mode. Lia critiqued my essay until it was perfect, even when we weren’t in a meeting she would be helping me fix certain things. She made a resume with me which I was able to use towards jobs and college. She helped me quit my job after a lot of ranting and gossiping with her. I could rant to her about anything going on in life, whether it was about school, friends, work, pretty much anything. I appreciate the time and effort she puts into her job. She dedicated so much time to help me become successful.
Lia gave me useful resources to use for SAT prepping. The college process is so stressful, but she was able to guide me through each step. I look up to her for all the advice and help she gives me. She even was able to recommend me to jobs because of her personal connections with people but also through Facebook. I am really happy with all of the schools I got into and the experience was less stressful than expected“
"I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Lia! All of my anxieties concerning the college application process melted away after just a few meetings with her. From the SATs to prepping for college interviews, she was a fountain of knowledge and advice. Where school counselors and parents may be lacking, she excels. She knows the ins and outs of the often daunting process and deftly guided me through it, always highlighting the light at the end of the tunnel: my own future. Her counseling changed the course of my college application process and my attitude about growing up and "leaving the nest." Through working with Lia, I discovered new things about myself and gained a sense of autonomy as I realized that where I go from high school is entirely up to me and my ability to grab the opportunities presented to me. Choosing Lia to be my counselor during my application process was the best choice I made, and I consider myself lucky to have worked with her!"
“I spent my junior year incredibly stressed about college. I didn’t even want to begin to think about schools until I absolutely had to. This stressed out both my parents and me. Lia entirely changed that for us. I enjoyed all of our meetings, and it felt like I was making a new friend and not facing an overwhelming task. Lia was invested in actually getting to know me and helping wherever possible. I was most stressed about all the writing. From the Common App essay to the supplemental essays, there was definitely a lot of it. Lia was incredibly helpful with the whole process, from brainstorming to revision.
Not only was she helpful with essay writing, Lia also had conversations with me about my career after college as I tried to decide on a major to apply to. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable as we discussed my likes and dislikes and talked about how they might affect the possible jobs I will want to have. Together we came to the realization that computer engineering is the field that fits my interests best.
Furthermore, Lia took daunting tasks such as creating a resume, and streamlined them. With Lia, creating my resume was quick and easy. Within two meetings and in what felt like a casual conversation, we had compiled all the necessary information and typed it up into a neat and aesthetically appealing format.
I am extremely glad that I had the opportunity to work with Lia throughout the college process. Her expertise was invaluable and helped me get accepted by my first choice school. I feel very lucky to have made such a connection with her and am looking forward to staying in touch and asking her for life advice when next year gets crazy!”
“It was my parent's idea to work with Academic Architect. It was honestly more for my sister the next year but we decided it would be at least a little helpful for me. I honestly don't know how my college results would have gone had I not worked with Lia, so it is safe to say it was more than a little helpful. Lia and I got along as soon as we started meeting, she was funny, kind, and helpful. We always talked about what we had been up to before getting into the college prep. I always felt like it was productive, but quite fun. In person I got to play with the cats who were always a highlight. It was so easy to connect when I needed help. Sending a text to Lia resulted in a response about 0-30 minutes later. If it was required Lia often called me to discuss even though we did not have a meeting planned.
The most helpful part of the process was when I was writing my essays. I am not a great at writing the style of essays that the colleges are looking for, but now that I wrote nearly 30 essays and been helped with each one individually, I can confidently say that my skills are heavily improved. I remember when I was doing my first batch of essays for the November 1st deadline I really struggled to create powerful essays. Lia spent so many hours reading and editing and rereading my essays, and I truly appreciate that. I also only got about 5 days of warning for my interview, and without hesitation Lia invited me to her nail salon appointment so that I could practice. That is the type of dedication to her clients that I truly appreciate.
Working with Academic Architect greatly reduced the stress I had about the college process, and reduced my parents' nagging to basically nothing. I found it extremely helpful to have someone who knew when I needed to get things done so that I did not have to make my own time management plan. I also found it extremely useful to have the ability to request Lia to call a school of interest and get information out of them that I otherwise was unable to obtain myself. I had confidence in her and that truly reduced my stress.
I gained more confidence that I would find the right school. Before I began working with Academic Architect I was concerned that I would not be able to find schools with the programs that I desired, but they gave me confidence in my abilities and the options I had.
I am thrilled with my results, although I did not get into my highest reach school I still got into a top 5 school in my major. In all honesty this school would have probably flown under my radar if I had been going through the process on my own. My other acceptances were also great, with lots of merit money being offered at my target to upper safety level schools,
After the last application was submitted I was just getting started. Although I was relieved to be done, the deferrals for my early action applications arrived. Lia and I started drafting ways to improve my application for the next round in March, and I ended up programming an app within 3 weeks to show my schools. It was still incredibly easy to get in touch whenever I needed it, Lia was always a text away.
Lia is honestly the best and truly cares about her clients, and I love her for the work she put into my college applications. We shared the late nights, but we also shared the success.”
“I felt happy to know that I was getting help from a professional to get me through this entire process! I felt like college talk aside, I was able to have genuine conversations and develop a great relationship with Lia! I always remember seeing the cats on the zoom meetings :)) It was very easy to get in touch and our schedule was pretty flexible for the most part. The most helpful things to me during the process were the resume, test prep, essay, and the supplements help, mainly all of the writing pieces! I also worked with Nick and my math score went up by 100 points on the SAT! It made me feel better knowing that someone was with me every step of the way! I feel so blessed that I could have this help and I can not thank you enough for everything you did for me. You helped me get closer to my dream of becoming a veterinarian! From the bottom of my heart thank you for everything <3”
"Lia was an amazing college counselor to work with. I started about two weeks too late, with a couple of ideas for what I wanted my essay to be about, and solely through the help of Lia I was able to get amazing scholarships from my target schools and get into my stretch schools as well! She is very friendly and so easy to get along with especially because she can communicate as a teen would. She had great advice for any decision that I was stuck on and the supplements were a breeze while she was working with me. I would recommend Lia to anyone who is about to start the college admissions process and I will definitely keep her in contact throughout college and hopefully into med school admissions.”
“I am very blessed to have worked with someone so knowledgeable like Lia about the college process. I went into it very stressed and was worried I wouldn't complete everything on time. The first day we met and looked over my college essay I was finished with a revised essay in less than a few weeks. The process with Lia was very relaxed and we completed a good amount each time we met. She taught me to really think outside the box while writing and answering the questions on Common App and told me the right and wrong from answering a question. I learned a lot about the college process over the course of meeting with Lia every week. Lia always made it fun and enjoyable to work on the college applications. I am very thankful for Lia and to have this opportunity of working with her. She has made the process so much easier, without her help I wouldn’t be where I am today."
"At the beginning of my junior year of high school I thought I knew exactly how the rest of high school was going to go. That was until the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March of my junior year. I had been stressing for months about college and future planning. This pandemic was not at all what I needed. Then one day, my mom was talking to her friend and she recommended Lia. We were lucky enough to get in with her last minute.
Before the first appointment in August of my senior year, I was a little nervous because I have never heard of “academic architect” before. The meeting could not have gone better. Lia immediately made me feel at ease and told me that she had “a plan” which made my stresses go away almost completely. We met every 2 weeks and were able to accomplish my high school resume, my college essay, the common application, and finally, she helped me apply to all of my schools.
Within a week of applying, I was able to get accepted to my top school. I am forever thankful for Lia’s help. She had a kind, patient personality, and always made me feel like I was her top priority with her quick responses to every question I had, and being so flexible with scheduling so that each student could meet with her at a time convenient for them. I would 100% recommend working with Lia to any student who needs help with the college application process."
"For anyone even trying to find out where to start when it comes to colleges and the application process Lia is the person to go to. Two of my siblings and myself have used Lia and she has been nothing but helpful. Working with Lia is structured and organized. Lia guided me from step one trying to find colleges that fit my interests to submitting applications. The college application process is grueling, difficult, and annoying but with someone like Lia on your side the process is a breeze.."
“Lia has been extremely helpful to me over the past year. She has kept me on track throughout the entire college application process, which made it seem almost stress-free. Lia took the time to get to know me as an individual, and she is very friendly, easily approachable and always responsive. I would recommend Lia to any high school student who feels the college application process looks stressful."
"Lia Jill is great at many things, but what she especially helps me in is writing college essays and staying on track. Organization is a key when starting the college process and staying on track is a must and Lia Jill really helps me with this. Also, she is an English wizard. She has taught me things about essays that my school has never even mentioned. One more this is she helps you make money (grants, financial packages). That’s like one of the reasons I wanted to work with her so much. Back when we met at Starbucks for the first time I was weary about working with someone and kinda wanted to do it on my own, but then once she said we will make money from it, I was all in. She is super helpful overall."
"When it came to apply to college, I had no idea where to begin or who to turn to for help. I had heard amazing reviews about Lia from my older friends that used her assistance for applying to colleges. Lia guided my Aunt and I through the process and eased the stress that comes along with the process, answered all the questions we had and even helped me schedule SAT test!
I would recommend Lia to any junior or senior in high school or even transfer college students that are applying to college, it can't hurt but can help you! Not only did Lia assist me in applying to college she also checks in on me and makes sure I am staying on top of my work and answers all the questions I have about my college classes. Lia knows more than the average college counselor because she once was a professor herself, which makes her even more knowledgeable about the college process and what they look for in a potential student!"
"As a Junior in High School and being the oldest child in my family, the mere thought of applying to college brought me to tears. I didn’t know the first thing about the application process aside from the quick presentation from my guidance counselor at school. I knew I couldn’t do it alone .
Looking back on everything Lia helped me to accomplish, it was one of the best decisions I made in preparing for my future. Not only did she help me in picking the right schools for myself, writing my essay, and working on my application but she helped me to restore confidence in myself and my abilities.
I can honestly say I would not be where I am today without Lia. She has a way of making the process stress free and exciting as it should be!
Together we applied to nine schools and I was admitted into eight of nine which seemed impossible at the beginning. With this amazing result I am so lucky to have the opportunity to have worked side by side with Lia and I would HIGHLY recommend hiring her! You won’t regret it!"
"To start this off, I had an absolutely amazing time working with Lia! I had been very stressed about everything that was even slightly related to college and working with her completely erased those fears. I had no idea what I wanted when I came into this program but I left having a much clearer idea and all the steps on how to reach it. She helped me find a summer program at one of my possible colleges and it was an amazing opportunity that I would have missed out on otherwise. The application process was also made into something so smooth and simple that it felt like almost no hassle at all. The deadlines were never a worry and everything worked as planned. I’m so lucky that I was able to partake in this program and I hope others can be just as lucky.
This program really helped me to figure out exactly what I supposed to do and made the process of applying very easy. I got accepted into all of my colleges and got a lot of money from most. I learned about a program at the University of New Haven that helped me to consider if I actually wanted to pursue a career in forensics. This program turned out to be a very fun experience and I met a lot of really nice people that I still talk to today. My admissions counselor mentioned to me how my essay was the best she had written, which really meant a lot. The stress of the application was very minimal, making my senior year of high school a lot easier than I expected it to be."
"I worked with Lia to help me through the college application process. And to say she just helped me was an understatement. From the very first time we had a meeting I was learning something new, something’s that I would’ve never considered. Lia definitely eased my stress through this entire process. I’m the type to not worry about certain things until they “get real”. I know if I waited longer to start the application process my applications would not be nearly as good as they ended up. Lia guided me through all the steps, both the simplest and most difficult ones. She provided me with great insight into everything about college: academics, student life, extracurriculars, and overall experiences. The boatload of information I learned wasn’t even the best part about working with Lia. She didn’t treat me like a student, but like a friend. We always had the best conversations and it was a great atmosphere. The meetings were never awkward and uncomfortable, they were fun. I felt like it was okay to ask questions and say my own opinion. After my applications were all submitted, we still had many conversations which still never felt awkward. We keep in touch quite often and I know I’ll always have someone to guide me."
"Working with Academic architect has made a world of difference. The amount of guidance and help I received was more than helpful, and it was very easy to keep in touch. I really like how I would write the college essay and college specific questions, and they would help revise it and make it a more impactful and an easy to read essay for colleges. I also feel like I did my own college application, but they just added more to it and helped me elaborate my words into the application. I felt very comfortable and at ease after working with them, and I was at first very stressed out about the whole college application process. After working with them, I felt very confident in my essay and my application. Even after I submitted my application, they would regularly check up on me asking me any questions like what colleges I’ve gotten into, how much money I’ve gotten, etc. I am very happy with my results, and have gotten into my dream college. I also got a lot of money from each of my colleges, as much as close to $30,000 from some schools! I am very happy with how everything went. Thank you academic architect!"
"My experience with Lia was short yet extremely helpful. Conversation came easy and she made me feel comfortable to open up. We were able to chat about things from dress shopping to personal issues. She made the college application process a million times less stressful. So far her help has led to five college acceptances! She continues to support me with my accomplishments outside of school. Overall I am very grateful for all of her guidance."
"I couldn't say better things about the entire process. Lia was caring and very professional as she understood each little piece that went into the college process. I couldn't be happier with where I am right now and for my future."
"It was very easy to get in touch, most of the time Lia and Katelyn texted back right away. The help for filling out the college applications and the essays we had to fill out for each application definitely benefited me the most. This process helped eased my stress because I trusted Lia that she would help me get my application and everything I needed done before or by the deadline. This process also helped my confidence about getting into college. I was happy with my results, I got accepted into most of my colleges and didn’t get rejected from one of them. After the last application, Lia was still supporting me in hearing back from colleges. "
"With the help of everyone, it made my experience going through writing my résumé, building, my college, essay and applying easier than I thought. Sometimes I was a little over stressed with deadlines and juggling school and job but I can’t imagine how much more stressful it would have been without the help."
"I worked with Lia this summer and fall. It was very easy to talk to her and I was able to open up to her if I needed to. It was nice to know I had support in this college journey. During this process I found that Lia greatly helped me with my essays and the application process. It was really nice not have to stress about these things during an already stressful time. Lia helped me get a babysitting job with a family that I still enjoy working for consistently. Now that I am committed to sacred heart I feel extremely grateful with the merit money I received. Yes I still feel like Lia was available to help even after my applications were submitted."
"I felt I was able to connect with Lia Levitt well and was always welcomed and felt in a very comfortable space. My experience of being able to get in touch with Lia was very positive considering she was always on time and allowed you to stay late if needed. When off meeting if you had a question she responded very quickly, when she wasn't sleeping or on one of her amazing trips. I think the most helpful parts of the work was definitely editing my college essays along with making a resume because frankly I would have no clue how to without help. It was also very helpful coming up with essay ideas together and having her edit them numerous thing until deemed perfect, which is very high for her standards. I think having Lia took of a lot of the stress away because I felt very guided and on the time line I should be on. Being the oldest I know my parents would have no clue how to help me through it and neither would I, so having guidance was much needed and appreciated. I personally felt a lot more confident through the process because I know where I needed to be and was on top of things, whereas without guidance you aren't sure if your at a good spot leading to lots of stress. I was happy with the results I got however I wished I had applied to schools more in the middle that I would go to because I got into a lot of reach schools however didn't get money. Meanwhile I did get into all my safety schools with significant amounts of money, with two schools giving me each over $160,000. After the last application was submitted I felt lots of relief that it was all over and proud of all the work I had done. I was very confident in the work I gave to the admissions officers, so i wasn't too worried about what would happen. Overall I feel I had a very positive experience with Academic Architect and would recommend it to future students for college admissions with lots more ease and less stress. "
“My family and I felt less under pressure while doing the college applications because of the good meetings. They made it feel like a friendship, more than a business. It was easy and help was available almost every time I needed it. I found working with Lia most helpful during the essay writing. The Khan Academy schedule for SAT prep I made with Lia helped me. This created much less stress for my whole family. My confidence was higher as I was able to highlight things on my resume and in my essays I would not have talked about originally. I felt like I could ask Lia a question at any time and get an answer. I was also happy with what money I got with merit and I got into my top school!”
"Starting the whole college process seems very long and scary. It was a huge fear of mine. Once I found out I would be working with Lia through the process I realized it wasn’t as bad. Lia is a very dedicated, caring, and encouraging person. Not only did she care about the college process she was also always there to help with anything else.
The best part was whenever you texted her you will always get an immediate response. You are never alone through the college process. When I first started I did not really know where I wanted to go and where to start. The weekly zoom meetings with Lia helped a ton!
Lia was able to help direct me on what I wanted to do in the future. If you are looking for an amazing, dedicated, and fun college counselor Lia is the one!"
“I thought it was a really good idea after I started working together with Lia to get help for the college process. The experiences were all really good and we had a lot to talk about every time. She was always available and really helpful! Definitely getting the resume together was very helpful and finding the right things to say for supplements was too. My parents don’t have experience with this process so this made it 10000x easier for us all. When I got accepted into college it made me feel really good about myself. I was very happy with all of the schools I got into because i felt like it was more than average.”
"Meetings with Lia were very helpful and I enjoyed talking to her. She really helped me to narrow down my list of schools that I applied to and pick my potential major. She was very good at keeping me on task and making sure I was on top of everything which helped me greatly. Also the amount of editing and revising put into the essays was outstanding. With both Lia and Kaitlyn I could reach out whenever I needed help. The mock interview was very helpful in preparing me for future interviews as I went it super unprepared and was much more confident following. I am happy with my results, got into 4 schools and two additional ones that I was side campused at and received 10k a year from the school that I chose, South Carolina. I enjoyed talking about the Knicks as well."
"I feel I had a really easy time connecting with Lia and it was really easy bc she’s really nice and easy to talk too. It was easy to get in touch because I was always free and Lia was good at scheduling meetings. I'd say what was most helpful was Lia helping me do more community service and more clubs and helping with my resume. The whole process was not stressful at all’s because Lia was so good at helping me with things, definitely easier than a parent. I got a job and did more community service while working with Lia and it did really help me look better for college. I definitely started to feel much better about college with Lia’s help because she knew how to do everything. I was very happy with working with Lia, she got me into the college I wanted to get into and I got lots of money for it. She definitely helped me a lot because I don't think I would be in college without her. Even after I finished all my applications Lia still checks in with me and helps me with anything I need."
"I thought working with Lia was a positive experience! She was always accessible when needed and meeting were productive but also allowed us to catch up on the drama (lol)!! I think the most vital things we did together was building my resume and anything writing based especially the supplements and essay. Helping me with these things definitely relieved a lot of stress especially when everything happened with my mom after she fell and I had a lot to worry about with my family. Lia always remained open and a shoulder to lean on during all of this. I have definitely learned a lot of tips when it came to my writing and being more expressive, which has been huge for any writing I've had to do since...making me so much more confident. After my last application was submitted Lia was still super available and continued to check in through everything. I am happy I got to work with her. "
"To me, Lia was a lot more than just someone my parents had help me with the college process. I connected with her on an extremely personal level, and really looked forward to laughing at each other at our weekly meetings. Being a senior in 2020, the college process is more stressful than ever, on top of online school and staying sane at home. Lia made my college applications seamless and efficient, and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.
From writing my essay to searching for schools I liked the most, I know I’m able to count on her for anything and everything. Even though I’ve finished all my applications and am now waiting to hear back from my schools, I still talk to Lia on a daily basis-even multiple times a day!! The kind of relationship we’ve formed over the last several months is one that will be held onto throughout my college years and beyond, and I’m so thankful to know her.”
“The summer following my Junior year, my mom was pushing me to choose colleges I wanted to apply to and write my common app essay. I was procrastinating and unmotivated as I didn’t know where to start or how to put my thoughts on paper. Lia got me motivated by setting a schedule for me which compelled me to finish my essays and applications in a timely manner. She was always available to answer any questions. Her knowledge and expertise of the college application process alleviated the stress and tension within my family. I highly recommend hiring Lia."
