“I had taken some of the group prep classes already and was unimpressed with their ability to help me in some of my more challenging areas, so when my mom suggested Academic Architect to get ready for re-taking my SAT and ACT, I was skeptical…especially since we had to do it over Zoom due to CoVid, which traditionally I had struggled in doing. 

My challenge area was the Math portion of the tests, so I needed focused help to prepare for the type of math that would be there on testing day.  Lia set us up with Nick and he was amazing - even given the challenges of using Zoom.  He was personable, understanding, and never got frustrated when I struggled with an area and instead tried to teach it a different way. 

Nick reviewed my scores from the previous exams so he knew exactly which areas I was challenged by, and where to focus his teaching.  There were so many concepts that I had struggled with learning in my school that he was able to take and explain in a much more practical way, allowing me to feel confident walking into the exams.   His ability to take the concept and break it into smaller concepts was of huge help to me as someone that previously struggled with only learning the “big picture” of the problem, as you often do in a larger setting.  It felt like after a couple of sessions that he really understood how my mind worked when it came to math and was able to build his curriculum not only specific to the tests, but also to how I would be best able to understand and solve the problems. 

I did weekly sessions with Nick for a few months and my math score went up on the exams, along with my math grades even in my high school classes.  The ability to now be able to break things down into smaller pieces has been such a game changer for me, and I have Nick to thank for that.  

I would highly recommend Nick for his math tutoring and support.  As I’m now starting to get my college application responses, I’m not sure that I would have gotten into some of the schools had I not gotten this level of personalized help from Nick.   

I will be forever grateful to Lia and Nick for all their help and support in getting ready for these exams.  I look forward to keeping them apprised of what I am able to accomplish over these next few years.
